One-stop wave pool shop launches

Wavegarden partner with rocket scientists to build turnkey pools globally…

Wavegarden announced today a partnership with Spanish engineering firm Sener.

The partnership makes it easier for would-be wave pool owners to get a site up and running with fewer build issues.

In the past, builders like URBNSURF or The Wave would have to buy the Wavegarden tech, and then find someone to build the project. And let’s face it, there aren’t a lot of construction companies out there who know how to build a perfect, reeling right-hander.

Currently, both Wavegarden and Sener are collaborating on the giant Turtle Island project in Seoul. The dynamic duo also has many other projects under development in Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico.

“We are at the beginning of a new business sector, that of artificial surfing lagoons, in which we aspire to consolidate our position as world leaders,” said Wavegarden CEO Fernando Odriozola. “The strategic alliance with Sener… allows us to offer our clients a turnkey solution that achieves the quality standards of the most demanding markets.”

Sener specializes in aerospace, engineering and construction.  They built the Altitude Orbit Control System (AOCS) for the Herschel and Plank satellites.

“For Sener, being able to participate in such a pioneering typology of projects and doing so on a fully international scale is a source of great satisfaction,” said Sener’s Power and Industrial Business Development Manager, Borja Zárraga. “We are therefore most grateful for the trust Wavegarden has placed in us with this framework partnership agreement, which will ensure successful joint execution.”

Wavegarden states that a full-size Wavegarden Cove can accomodate up to 90 surfers, simultaneously.

The company reiterated in the press release that their tech provides easy installation, operation and maintenance while its machinery is modular, energy efficient and adaptable to various lagoon dimensions.
