WavePoolMag dropped in at the Stab EAST alt-board wave pool festival in Palm Springs this week. What we found was that, yes, PSSC does live up to its party reputation and that, yes, wave pools are great test tracks.
The concept of EAST was to get some of Stab’s favorite surfers and have them, as well as the paying public, like WavePoolMag, try alternative craft from shapers Matt Biolos, Britt Merrick, William ‘Stretch’ Riedel, the Campbell Bros and many others in the clean peaks of the Palm Springs Surf Club.
Surfers on hand included Harry Bryant, Holly Wawn (who’s a really a lovely human by the way), Mikey February, Nathan Fletcher, Victor Bernardo, Mason Ho, Jaleesa Vincent and many others.
We sampled CI Feb’s Fish and Album’s Plasmic. Both went insane in very different ways. And, no, we won’t show you the Flowstate footage because you deserve to watch the world’s most exciting surfers (and not middle-aged editors) surf. Check Stab’s highlight clip below.
