American Wave Machines, the creators of the OG wave pool at Waco Surf issued a press release announcing their accomplishments for the year. The developer of PerfectSwell surf technology, unveiled two new surf parks in 2025.
PerfectSwell Riyue Bay Surf Resort officially opened on 11 November in partnership with China Tourism Group while in North America, a foundation ceremony for PerfectSwell Zion was held on 20 November in Utah.
In the presser CEO Bruce McFarland cited operational milestones and project completions as key indicators of progress.
“This year’s results reflect a herculean effort from the team on improving efficiency, product delivery and commissioning,” said Bruce. “Finishing with two grand openings in one month is perhaps our most notable achievement. With PerfectSwell Zion well underway and a third pool starting up in Brazil, 2026 will be just as memorable.”

Director of Engineering Miquel Lazaro pointed out advances in the company’s wave performance.
“The wave quality achievements made this year have exceeded the expectations set forth by the engineering team at the beginning of this year,” said Miquel. “With more developments in store, we are excited to continue being the wave surfers want and add even more to the playlist in 2026.”
AWM’s PerfectSwell system is a pneumatic, sequence-based wave pool technology covered by more than 50 patents, including features such as Split Peaks, Peeling Waves, Air Sections, and Wedge Barrels.
