What Andy Warhol’s work is to art, Ben Gravy’s vlogs are to novelty waves. Bold claim, yes. But both gents’ bodies of work force the viewer to see the amazing in something that’s right in front of us. While Andy chased the sublime of the American commercial psyche, Ben chases waves.
And he’s found them in the most obvious and simultaneously unusual places. He’s been doing it for a long time. His latest romp takes us through Munich during the city’s other beer festival. And, yes, Ben finds surf at o2SURFTOWNMUC and the Endless Surf wave pool.
“These wave pools are getting out of hand. I feel like we’re living in the future and everything has gone Terminator,” said Ben in his YouTube post. “Today I went surfing in München. The wave is absolutely perfect! In this video I highlight some of the best parts of the pool and what it’s like to be a 36-semi-pro having to try to rip as hard as the Rip Curl Europe team and the world’s best aerialist Robbie McCormick. Thanks for all of the stoke and support FOR THE DREAM!”
