A development permit application was submitted for a Canadian surf park and Hub building in South Britannia last week. The application includes a seven-acre Wavegarden wave pool with a dissipative shoreline and a 2,800-square-metre Hub building.
The Hub building is planned to include a surf academy, café, bar, restaurant, retail space and a 700-square-metre outdoor deck. A supplementary development permit covering Phase 1 of the project will include shoreside surf cabins, wellness facilities and workforce accommodation.
In a LinkedIn post Head of Development Tony Petricevic made the announcement and thanked those involved.

Petricevic said groundbreaking is planned for later this summer, with construction scheduled to begin in the new year.
“Next steps are breaking ground later this summer with construction to commence in the new year,” Petricevic said. “We’re looking forward to turning these renders and plans into reality – bringing surf to the Sea to Sky in 2029.”
The Sea to Sky is a reference to the visually stunning Highway 99 in British Columbia that runs from Whistler to Vancouver.
