Atlantic Park Surf has named Dryrobe its official provider of change robes for surf operations staff, the company announced recently. The weatherproof change robe has a long history in the UK surf scene and the growing wave pool scene. The partnership places Dryrobe first in a what is expected to be a long list of partnerships at the newly launched surf park in Virginia Beach.
Atlantic Park Surf is part of a $350 million, 10-acre urban redevelopment project adjacent to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. It is the first North American surf lagoon to use Wavegarden Cove technology. The park opened earlier this year and serves as the anchor feature of the Atlantic Park development.
Dryrobe, founded by UK surfer Gideon Bright, has previously worked with other artificial surf facilities, including The Wave in Bristol. The brand’s outdoor changing robes are made from recycled materials and are designed for use in extreme weather. Dryrobe is also a certified B Corp and has partnered with organizations such as USA Surfing, Red Bull, and the Save the Waves Coalition.
“Dryrobe changing robes are going to be a game-changer for our lifeguard team and surf coaches–keeping everyone warm, dry and ready for action all winter long,” said Aiden Kahn, Director of Surf Experience at Atlantic Park Surf.

Gideon Bright, Dryrobe’s CEO and founder, said the company has experience supporting surf park operations in multiple countries.
“Having worked closely with wave pools across the world, we know how beneficial our products are for keeping both surfers and staff warm and dry,” said Gideon. “We also know the enormous positive impact that these cutting-edge facilities can have on the local community. Creating an inland space that delivers world-class waves and makes surfing accessible aligns perfectly with everything we do here at Dryrobe.”
Dryrobe’s work with surf parks and wave pools forms a key component of its business. Its involvement with Atlantic Park Surf adds to its growing portfolio of partnerships in the artificial wave sector, strengthening its presence in the U.S. market.
