Video: Munich Surf Park Marks One Year With Endless Surf Technology

Germany’s first surf lagoon has been open for one year now. In that time we’ve seen a steady stream of pros, vloggers along with Germany’s best dropping into the pool. The surf park, located in Hallbergmoos near Munich Airport, opened in the summer of 2024. It was the first Endless Surf wave technology unveiled to the world. In celebration, the company released a 10-minute edit capturing all the milestones throughout the past year.

The Endless Surf system in Munich uses 34 pneumatic caissons controlled by software to shape waves. The company says the setup allows operators to adjust wave size, speed and form for different skill levels. Waves at the Munich site range from one-foot rollers for beginners to 2.1-meter barrels for advanced surfers. Operators say one-hour sessions guarantee a minimum of 12 ride attempts per person.

o2 SURFTOWN MUC reports that the pool has been running year-round, with daily summer hours stretching from early morning until late evening. The surf park added they are using on-site photovoltaic power with a goal of covering at least 80 percent of its energy demand.

Endless Surf technology here can produce rides up to 18 seconds in single-peak mode, with future designs expected to reach 32 seconds. The company adds that many more projects are in development.
