EpicSurf tests standing wave at Heroes Paradise in Tampa area

EpicSurf conducted a rider testing event this past weekend at Heroes Paradise, marking the first public unveiling of the company’s stationary wave system in the United States. The company says the Florida standing wave is the largest one on the East Coast of the US and the second-largest standing wave in the United States.

Surfers, wake athletes, river surfers, surf park enthusiasts and creators participated in the testing event, where riders tested the wave across multiple settings and skill levels. Participants provided feedback on the wave’s ride quality, versatility and accessibility.

The standing wave features a 46-foot surfable ride width and adjustable wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Operators can modify the settings for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. EpicSurf said its deep-water standing wave technology supports surfing with real finned surfboards.

The company said the testing weekend demonstrated demand for accessible surf experiences and highlighted the capabilities of the EpicSurf system ahead of the official opening of the attraction at Heroes Paradise in the Tampa area.

EpicSurf said its system is designed to provide customizable surfing experiences for riders of varying skill levels and that it is the first deep-water stationary wave manufactured in the United States.

Parent company Aquatic Development Group said its products and services have been used in more than 4,000 facilities worldwide across six continents. The company said it has designed and constructed more than 100 indoor and outdoor waterparks and more than 550 wave pools and specialty wave systems worldwide.
