Florida Surf Park Breaks Ground with First Endless Surf Lagoon in the U.S.

After months of whispers, rumors and secret photos, will this be the first wave pool to cross the finish line in the Florida wave pool race? Most likely. This massive new Florida surf park has officially pulled off its veil of secrecy. WavePoolMag says “officially” because now, with site development in full swing, we’re releasing exclusive developer interviews and never-before-seen video footage from the build site. (See YouTube clip below or click through here.) Last week the team at Shell Point in Panama City Florida went public. That Florida surf park is still in the early stages.

A Surf Destination Between Two Coasts

Located on a 10.5-acre site in Indian River County, The Point Surf Park is positioned near Kelly’s grom-era local spot, Sebastian Inlet. Nestled between Florida’s Treasure Coast and Space Coast—regions known for their surf heritage and high tourist traffic—the park is expecting to serve as a key hub for both locals and visitors.

Frequent flat spells and inconsistent swell events have long frustrated the Florida surf community. This wave pool in Florida once completed, solves that by delivering reliable waves year-round.

Endless Surf Technology to Power the Waves

At the core of The Point Surf Park is Endless Surf’s pneumatic ES36 system. For comparison, Munich is a 34 caisson system and Surftopia is a 32 caisson system. The system offers 19-second rides in Single Peak mode and 11-second rides in Split Peak.

The lagoon’s unique heart-shaped layout enhances the proximity of surfers and spectators alike. It creates multiple surf zones, allowing beginners and experts to enjoy the water together.

Built by Surfers, for Surfers

“Our vision has always been to create a haven for surfers, by surfers,” said Luiz de Araujo, co-founder of The Point Surf Park. “Partnering with Endless Surf to leverage their next-generation technology to bring Florida’s surf park dreams to life was a no-brainer. We’re so stoked to offer a space where Florida’s surfing community can come together and experience waves like never before.”

De Araujo is joined by co-founders Asa Cascavilla and Jack Cook. Together, they bring deep experience in real estate, development, and construction. The three founders see the park as both a business and a mission—one that reflects their passion for surfing and faith-based values.

Construction Progress and Community Support

The build is moving fast. Site grading and pile installation are complete. Excavation of the Endless Surf lagoon will begin soon. The project is fully funded and backed by local support, ensuring its momentum toward a 2026 opening.

Industry Excitement for Florida’s First Surf Park

Endless Surf’s Chief Commercial Officer Baptiste Caulonque is excited about the partnership.

“Collaborating with Luiz and his surf-centric vision perfectly aligns with our mission to help create world-class surf experiences. Projects in planning in Florida throughout the last decade have been tough to get off the ground. That said we are beyond thrilled to be working alongside The Point to bring ES waves to a region that is hungry for a surf park. Our ES36 system is designed to cater to surfers of all levels, and we’re confident that this partnership will set a new standard for wave technology and surf parks in the U.S.”

The Future of Surfing in Florida

The Point Surf Park will offer more than surf sessions. Founders say it will serve as a vibrant community for training, recreation, and events. With consistent waves coming to a notoriously fickle coast, it’s expected to attract both seasoned surfers and newcomers eager to learn.

As the first Florida wave pool of its kind, The Point’s arrival could break the ongoing Florida surf park curse and usher in a new era for artificial wave technology in the United States.
