Flowstate iPhone App and New Pro Tier Expand AI Video Market

Tech company Flowstate has launched two new products, the Flowstate iPhone app and a premium tier called Flowstate Pro, designed to automate video capture and provide performance tracking for action sports.

According to the company, the app allows users to record surf sessions using an iPhone mounted on a beachside tripod. The device is positioned to frame the take-off zone through to the end of the wave.

The app’s core features include session recording, artificial intelligence-based move detection, and performance tracking over time. Flowstate stated that the app enables users to analyze maneuvers and compare sessions to improve technique.

“AI detects your key manoeuvres, so you can improve on every run (and it’s getting smarter every day!),” the company said in a statement. “See detailed analytics and trends, and key milestones—visualized for every session.”

Flowstate Pro, the premium version, includes additional tools such as session overlays, adaptive goal setting, and side-by-side comparisons.

The company said the platform is currently available for surfing, skating, snowboarding, and skiing. It also noted plans to expand support for additional sports.

“Don’t see your sport listed? Let us know! We’ve expanding rapidly into new sports,” Flowstate said.

The app is designed to function without external hardware, relying on the iPhone for video and on-device analysis. According to the company, it is aimed at action sports users seeking performance insights without the cost of professional coaching.
