Flowstate Launches Atlantic Park AI Video System

Flowstate has introduced its AI-powered video capture system at Atlantic Park Surf, the first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon in the United States. The partnership marks the technology company’s entry into Virginia Beach’s new surf park, which opened this summer.

Automated Surf Video Capture

Flowstate’s system uses multi-camera setups and machine learning to automatically record, edit, and deliver video and photography of every ride. The company says the technology is designed for surfers at all levels and provides personalized replays through individual Flowstate profiles.

Atlantic Park Surf is proud to introduce Flowstate video capture as part of our guest experience,” said Blake Hesse, COO of Beach Street Development. “This technology allows surfers to review their sessions and receive personalized coaching significantly enhancing progression and enjoyment. Early feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive. In addition Flowstate will be powering the live stream of the Chlorine Clash, our first competition in the lagoon bringing the action to a broader audience.”

Coaching and Competition Tools

The platform includes built-in coaching features that provide surfers with instant feedback and analysis. It also supports competitions, automatically capturing and ranking waves without manual timing or paperwork. Atlantic Park Surf plans to use Flowstate to run contests ranging from local club events to larger private competitions.

Live Streaming and Community Features

Flowstate will deliver live event streaming and real-time replays on screens around Atlantic Park. Surfers can share content through community tools that allow profiles, comments, and video sharing. Sessions are private by default, and users can choose when and how to share their content.

“A monumental moment for the East Coast surfers of the USA with the launch of their first wavepool, the first Wavegarden pool, and the first of many for the team at Beach Street,” said Luke Wallace, CEO at Flowstate. “The team at Flowstate couldn’t be more stoked to be a part of this project! The East Coast flat spells are no more with waves on tap every day, we very much look forward to helping progress the level of surfing with our full suite of products, from automated video capture, coaching, competitions and self progression.”

Atlantic Park Surf

Atlantic Park Surf is part of a redevelopment project near the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The facility uses Wavegarden Cove technology, which the company describes as an energy-efficient modular wave generation system. The lagoon covers 2.67 acres and is the first of its kind in the country.
