WavePoolMag stumbled upon the new FlowSurf rapid wave at Waco Surf this week. The system has been on an impressive run lately, with installations in Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, and now Waco. Upcoming launches are planned for Quebec City and Cocoa Beach.
We reached out to FlowSurf for more information.
“The FlowSurf can operate on four different settings—from Beginner to Pro—to suit any skill level, with wave heights ranging from 3 to 5.3 feet,” the company told us via email. “The product’s energy consumption is half the industry standard, with the lowest water consumption in its class.”
Just a year ago, only a handful of FlowSurf systems were deployed across Europe. According to Marshall Myrman, the recent surge has been a long time in the making.
“From concept to reality always takes time and patience—and I have neither,” said Myrman. “After two successful FlowSurf installations in Luxembourg and Saudi Arabia over the past four months, we’re thrilled that the third will be part of the iconic Waco Surf Park.”
Waco Surf has just entered its ninth season in operation and was the first full-time surf park in the United States.
“In my mind, it’s the first truly legit surf park—one that surfers on the West Coast actually travel to,” Myrman added. “For them to place their confidence in us and include FlowSurf in their already successful venue means a lot. All of us here are truly grateful. Thank you, Waco Surf.”
