Lost Shore to Host International Women’s Day Surf Sessions and Film Screenings

Lost Shore Surf Resort in Scotland will host a series of women-focused surf sessions and film screenings to mark International Women’s Day.

On Friday 6 March, the resort will hold a mini-film premiere and Q&A event titled “In Conversation with Amy Swims.” The event includes a screening of the Loch Ness Swim Challenge documentary followed by a question-and-answer session with ultramarathon swimmer Amy Ennion, known as Amy Swims.

Tickets for the event cost £15. Organizers said profits will go to affiliated charities The Wave Project and Inclusive Surfing Scotland, which deliver surf therapy sessions for young people and adaptive surf sessions at Lost Shore.

On Sunday 8 March, the resort will run all-women surf lessons for beginners and intermediate participants, along with sessions on the Cruiser and Turns wave settings. Tickets start at £65 and include a hot buffet dinner at Lost Kitchen and an evening film screening focused on women in surfing.

Lee Wood, managing director of Lost Shore Surf Resort, said the initiative is intended to create a dedicated environment for women surfers.

“From the outset, we’ve wanted Lost Shore to feel welcoming to everyone,” said Wood. “Creating dedicated space for women to surf together is part of that, whether it’s about feeling more relaxed trying something new or progressing without feeling self-conscious. Time and time again we see the experience is a joyful one!”
