Scotland’s Inland Surf Destination Launches Family Summer Program
Lost Shore Surf Resort near Edinburgh is offering free surf lessons to children this July. The promotion applies to families who stay four nights or more in the resort’s hilltop lodges.
Each qualifying family receives one daily surf lesson for up to three children aged 7 to 16. Lessons include equipment rental and are led by International Surfing Association-certified coaches. According to the resort, this can save families up to £150 per day.
Wave Pool Holidays Designed for Families
Lost Shore’s inland surf facility is the first of its kind in Scotland and the largest in Europe. The wave pool is three times the size of Hampden Park’s football pitch. The pool caters to all experience levels, with 16 different types of sessions, making it suitable for beginners and advanced surfers.
Lodges accommodate up to eight guests and include kitchens, dining areas, and lounges. Each unit has a private wet changing room and surf gear storage, designed for families and group travelers.

Summer Activities Beyond Surfing
Throughout July, the resort will host youth workshops in partnership with Think Circus. These sessions teach basic circus skills such as juggling and plate spinning.
“This July, families can experience an unforgettable staycation with world-class surfing right on their doorstep of their luxury lodge,” said Lee Wood, Surf and Hospitality Director at Lost Shore Surf Resort. “Kids can learn to surf or hone their skills for free, while adults can join them at exclusive discounted rates when booking accommodation. Beyond the waves, there’s plenty to explore – both at the resort and across Scotland – making it a unique, active holiday just a short journey from Edinburgh Airport and the Capital.”
