Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience has appointed Poullaides Construction Company (PCC) to build its upcoming surf-focused leisure destination. The newest Middle East surf park will open in 2026 within the Bilaj Al Jazayer waterfront development on Bahrain’s southwest coast.
Edamah, the real estate investment arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, is leading the development in collaboration with GFH Financial Group. The park forms part of a 1.3 million square meter coastal hub designed to enhance the country’s adventure tourism offerings.
Developers Aim to Strengthen Tourism and Job Growth
Project leaders say the surf park will contribute to Bahrain’s economy by generating jobs and attracting international visitors. They also view the project as a step toward positioning Bahrain as a regional destination for surf culture and recreation.
“As the developer of Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience, we are proud to support a project that reflects Bahrain’s commitment to innovation and growth,” said Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah. “This surf park will strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for leisure and entertainment while generating jobs. Edamah supports Public-private partnerships (PPPs) which are essential for driving economic development and attracting investment.”

GFH Financial Group Sees Strategic Value
GFH Financial Group highlighted the park’s role in expanding Bahrain’s tourism infrastructure. Chetan Dongra, Managing Director of Proprietary Investments, noted that the initiative aligns with GFH’s long-term investment strategy.
“Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience represents a unique investment opportunity in the Kingdom’s thriving tourism and entertainment sector,” Dongra said.
Surf Technology Introduced for the First Time in Bahrain
Wavegarden Cove technology will power the park’s wave pool. This modular system generates up to 1,000 waves per hour and supports surfers of all skill levels. Bahrain Surf Park will be the first location in the Middle East and North Africa to implement the technology.
Poullaides Construction to Lead Project Delivery
Poullaides Construction Company will manage the full construction scope. According to Christos A. Poullaides, the company plans to deliver a benchmark facility for the region.
“We are honoured to have been entrusted with the construction of this landmark project,” Poullaides said. “We are committed to delivering a state-of-the-art facility that sets a new standard for leisure and tourism in the region.”

Diverse Amenities and Surf Academy Announced
Bahrain Surf Park will include a variety of visitor features. These include dining venues, retail outlets, shaded cabanas, and private spaces for events and corporate functions. Additionally, the Club Hawaii Surf Academy will offer training programs to surfers at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Victoria Williams, General Manager of Bahrain Surf Park, emphasized the significance of this next phase.
“This is a monumental milestone for Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience,” she said. “We are thrilled to be moving forward with this pioneering project that will bring a world-class surfing destination to Bahrain.”
Surf Event Scheduled for 2026 Opening
