Aventuur has secured institutional investment from the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC), along with further investment from existing project partner Wyllie, for the Perth Surf Park.
According to the company, the funding marks a milestone that will allow construction to begin in the second half of 2025. A public opening is scheduled for late 2027. The project is located in Central Cockburn, adjacent to the Kwinana Freeway and the Cockburn Central Train Station.
The $120 million artificial surf park will include a 2.2-hectare Wavegarden Cove, approximately the size of Perth’s main sports stadium. The lagoon will feature new design elements including swimmable side shores.

Aventuur Chair and Chief Development Officer Andrew Ross said the park is the largest private tourism infrastructure investment in Western Australia in more than two decades.
“The Perth Surf Park represents the first major tourism attraction to be delivered in Perth in over 25 years and is currently the single largest private investment in tourism infrastructure in the State,” said Andrew. “Both RAC and Wyllie have a long history of supporting tourism ventures, and their investment in this once-in-a-generation project is just the latest example of this enduring commitment to investing for the benefit of the Western Australian community.”
RAC Group CEO Rob Slocombe said the organization’s participation is consistent with its ongoing support for regional tourism and community-oriented investments.
“RAC has a long and proud history of supporting WA tourism, be it via our parks and resorts portfolio, our advocacy for safer and easier travel, our sponsorship of the RAC Arena, and now through our investment in Aventuur’s Perth Surf Park,” said Slocombe. “We’re proud to be investing in a soon-to-be iconic West Australian destination which will provide the WA community a unique, world-class experience, with RAC members set to gain access to a range of member benefits and exclusive offers.”
Aventuur expects the project to create more than 280 jobs during construction and approximately 100 full-time positions once operational. The company estimates the surf park will contribute more than $300 million in gross economic value to the state’s economy over its lifetime.
In addition to the wave pool, the Perth Surf Park will include a surf academy, rental store, fitness studio, outdoor training facilities, and a wellness and recovery center. Aventuur plans to offer surf instruction, personalized training, and multi-day retreats.
Aventuur said overnight accommodation will be available through rooftop glamping, with views of the surf lagoon and a private rooftop lounge offering breakfast and drinks. Members will have access to amenities such as a private clubhouse, board storage, and exclusive viewing decks.
The company said they also plan to host regular events at the site, including surf competitions, cultural festivals, and charity fundraisers.
Aventuur’s portfolio includes projects in Auckland and Jacksonville, with Perth Surf Park as its flagship. RAC, established in 1905, is a Western Australian member organization that reinvests profits into tourism, transport, and mobility initiatives. Wyllie is a family-owned investment firm known for backing large-scale infrastructure and tourism ventures across Western Australia, with a focus on long-term regional impact and economic development. All three entities are headquartered in Western Australia.
