Registration is now open for the 2025 SurfAid Cup Surf Ranch. The two-day fundraising surf event is scheduled for November 17 and 18 at the Kelly Slater Wave Co. facility in Lemoore, California.
SurfAid said the competition will involve eight teams, each made up of five intermediate to advanced surfers. Participants may register from across the United States. The organization is aiming to raise $150,000 for its health programs in rural Indonesia.
“By surfing in the SurfAid Cup Surf Ranch 2025 you’ll not only have an epic day out on the waves with your surf buddies, but you’ll also directly be improving the health and livelihoods of people living in remote communities in Indonesia,” said SurfAid USA Board Chairman Stuart Gasner.
“Help us celebrate 25 years of SurfAid with perfect waves and make a lasting impact for the next generation in the heartlands of surfing.”
The SurfAid Cup has been held annually at the Surf Ranch since 2020. The event is one of several hosted by the organization, which began running SurfAid Cup competitions in 2011. Other locations include Bondi, Manly, URBNSURF, Santa Cruz, Malibu, and Waco Surf.
SurfAid was founded in 2000 by a group of surfers following a visit to the Mentawai Islands. It operates health, water, and sanitation programs in remote areas of Indonesia and the Pacific. According to the organization, its in-country staff are all local nationals.
