Waco Surf Launches High Season Amenities & New Offers

Waco Surf has been busy lately. Along with the annual reopening of its water park for the 2026 season on May 9th, the Texas surf park also introduced new surf experiences and resort amenities.

Annual attractions include the Wedge Water Slides, a lazy river and “The Lil’ Wedgies,” mini slides for younger guests that empty into a shallow wading pool. The resort also announced the addition of what it described as America’s first Shredmill, a stationary wave designed for continuous riding and surf training.

In a press release Waco Surf described the FlowSurf system as being a high-performance stationary wave designed for continuous riding and skill progression.

“The Shredmill expands Waco Surf’s offerings, giving advanced riders a new way to train while also creating an approachable entry point for first-time surfers,” said a Waco Surf team member. “Its controlled, consistent flow allows beginners to safely learn the fundamentals at their own pace, making the experience accessible, less intimidating, and enjoyable for all skill levels.”

Additional surf programming updates include enhanced Learn-to-Surf instruction and new specialty sessions like Glow Surf, which brings music and illuminated boards to nighttime rides. Together, these offerings make surfing more accessible to beginners while maintaining the high-performance appeal for experienced surfers.

The resort said guests will also have access to pickleball, fishing, bike and UTV rentals, and off-property excursions arranged through concierge services.

Hospitality updates for the 2026 season include changes to on-site dining venues, upgraded gathering spaces and additional wellness offerings. Lodging options include hotel rooms, private homes and RV sites.

The resort also announced the launch of the Desperado Club membership program as part of its long-term expansion plans. This planned development will include 88 homes consisting of 44 standalone houses and 44 duplex townhomes.

Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026, with initial home completions expected in summer 2027. A second surf lagoon is planned within The Desperado and is expected to open alongside the first homes.

The water park will operate through Sept. 13 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Sunday. Water park day passes for children start at $14. A family package for two adults and two children ages 6-16 is priced at $99.
