Last March WavePoolMag spoke with surf park vets Damon Tudor and Craig Stoddart about their project in the Middle East, the Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience. We learned about the unique challenges and opportunities presented at the upcoming venue.
Today, WavePoolJobs put out a call that Bahrain is now hiring a Head of Surf Operations. This position is quite a rare opportunity, and there are currently only a handful of individuals in the world, like Lee Wood and Mitch Crews, who excel in the position. But that’s changing as more wave pools are added to the Wave Pool Map.
The announcement underscores the continued growth of the Wave Pool industry and the increasing demand for experienced professionals in artificial wave environments.

The Head of Surf Operations will work closely with the General Manager and the senior leadership team to oversee all surf-related functions at the venue. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring daily readiness, leading and motivating the surf operations team, maintaining safety standards, and helping shape the broader guest experience for one of the most ambitious projects in the Gulf.
The park is seeking an applicant with experience in high-volume, multi-activity destinations, along with a background in leadership, time management, and safety compliance. The job description highlights the need for someone who is proactive, organized, and results-oriented.
“This role is central to our launch and long-term success,” said a Bahrain Surf Park representative. “We are looking for someone who can take initiative, think strategically, and deliver an exceptional experience for every visitor.”
The park is currently under development and is positioned as one of the most exciting new surf destinations in the Middle East. With artificial wave technology advancing rapidly, and global investment in surf parks accelerating, new jobs in the sector are emerging at a steady pace.
According to WavePoolJobs, demand for qualified professionals across surf coaching, operations, engineering, hospitality, and safety is increasing year over year, with openings now appearing in both traditional coastal markets and inland locations.
The deadline for applications is September 19, 2025. Interested candidates are asked to submit a CV and cover letter to people@bahrainsurfpark.com. Those not qualified or interested are encouraged to forward the opportunity to others who may be a good fit.
WavePoolJobs continues to track hiring trends in the surf park space, and the Bahrain Surf Park listing adds to a growing number of opportunities for those looking to build careers at the intersection of surfing, technology, and tourism.
