Swiss Wave Pool Water Photography is a Thing. Here’s the Workshop to Prove it

TMH Academy and Alaïa Bay will host a four-day water photography workshop from June 14-17, 2026, at the wave pool facility in Sion, Switzerland. The workshop will focus on water photography, surf imagery and technical shooting inside a controlled wave pool environment. Organizers said participants will work alongside professional water photographers and practice shooting inside waves while developing technical and safety skills.

TMH Academy was founded by brothers Javi, José and Alex Postigo of Jávea, Spain, who specialize in underwater photography and filmmaking. The academy has organized water photography workshops since 2023.

“This workshop is not just about learning photography,” the organizers said. “It is a complete immersion into the world of water shooting and surf imagery inside one of the most advanced wave pools in the world. The controlled environment of Alaïa Bay allows participants to shoot perfect and repeatable waves, learn faster in safer conditions, practice positioning and timing, repeat angles and compositions, work closely with surfers inside the wave, and focus entirely on creativity and technique. This creates opportunities for images that are extremely difficult to achieve in the ocean.”

Organizers said the workshop is open to beginners and experienced photographers. TMH Academy will provide wetsuits, water housings and cameras depending on availability, while participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

The workshop price is 1,450 euros and includes accommodation, meals, wave pool access, technical support and equipment loans subject to availability. Flights, transportation, insurance and personal equipment, including fins, masks and snorkels, are not included.
