Wavegarden Provides List of Projects in Construction

Wavegarden reported six surf park facilities in various stages of construction across the United States, Europe, Australia, South America, and New Zealand. Openings for the wave pools are projected to happen between 2026 and 2028.

According to a press release, the company operates 12 facilities currently, with 23 projects in development, and an estimated 50 others in planning worldwide.

The next six wave pool projects to use this technology include:


California Wave Pool Under Construction

DSRT SURF, Palm Desert, California, USA
The project is 90% complete with an expected opening in summer 2026. It includes a 52-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include a surf academy and shop, 57 residential lots, 139 short-stay villas and hotel rooms, and restaurants.


Uraguay wave pool under construction El Nido

EL NIDO, Punta del Este, Uruguay
The project is 70% complete with an opening date not specified. It includes a 52-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include a surf club and academy, pools, paddle surfing lake, skate park, spa, sports courts, community garden, kids club, trekking trails, 396 residential plots, and a beach club.


Portugal Wave Pool Under Construction

SURFERS COVE, Óbidos, Portugal
The project is 30% complete with an expected opening in late 2026. It includes a 46-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include accommodation units, restaurant, surf school and shop, skate park, wellness area, sports courts, gym, bike track, and event spaces.


Madrid Wave Pool Under Construction

GEMSWELL SURF MADRID, Madrid, Spain
The project is 25% complete with an expected opening in 2027. It includes a 56-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include a surf academy, artificial beach, food and beverage space, music venue, and subway access.


Perth Wave Pool Under Construction

PERTH SURF PARK, Perth, Australia
The project is 10% complete with an expected opening in late 2027. It includes a 62-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include a surf academy, beach club, rooftop accommodation, wellness hub, and members’ amenities.


New Zealand Wave Pool Under Construction

AUCKLAND SURF PARK, Auckland, New Zealand
The project is 5% complete with an expected opening in 2028. It includes a 62-module Wavegarden Cove. Features include eco-cabins, residential homes, a solar farm, data center, and public amenities.
