WavePoolMag Podcast launches with 3 episodes

Today we officially launch our podcast. Hosted by South African journalist Nick Robinson, each episode talks to the engineers, entrepreneurs, pros and the visionaries who have a unique wave pool story to tell.

Here’s the rundown for the first three episodes in our launch phase before we kick into regular one-per-week publishing. Remember, every Thursday at 16h00 CET we will release a new podcast.

The launch phase involves three episodes over the following three days.

How to subscribe

There are quite a few options to keep in touch with our podcast and never to miss an episode:

  • Email The most simple is via our email newsletter. Sign up and be alerted every week (see the “subscribe” box on the homepage.
  • Apple Podcasts (previously known as iTunes) Power up the app in your iPhone, iPad or Mac and search for “wave pool mag”. Click subscribe and you’re done! If you like the podcast, we’d love it if you could leave a rating on iTunes.

A sleepy valley up in the depths of North Wales was the location for the first dedicated surf park in the world. Adventure Parc Snowdonia opened their doors back in 2015 and Andy Ainscough, the human behind it all, relates the story of how the park came to fruition and what their plans are for the future.

Podcast Episode 3: Aaron Trevis

Surf Lakes made waves around the surfing world when their “mad max thing” blew steam and cranked out some classic lines, getting Occy barreled at the same time. It’s a fascinating concept and pretty different mechanically to the standard “wave plough” that slides through the pool at Kelly’s and at Snowdonia.

New week, we’ll be touching base with the URBNSURF leader, Andrew Ross. He talks all about his first sniff of mechanical wave artistry deep in Spain in 2012…
