AI video crosses over into coaching sphere with two new programs from two separate companies
AI video, wave pools and coaching seem to be the holy trinity in surf progression for most of us. In terms of ease it’s hard to beat having every one of your waves captured, easily downloaded and file shared with a coach. How did we do it before? Oh yeah, the coach would stand on the beach and hope that you got enough waves that offered opportunities to expose all your faults. But no longer. This week both AI video capture companies Surf Eye and Flowstate have announced programs to integrate their systems with coaching. Flowstate aired its Integrated Pool Coaching feature and Surf Eye partnered with coaching program Pactto.
Flowstate Launches Integrated Coaching for Surf Training
Flowstate has introduced a new Integrated Pool Coaching feature within its platform aimed at enhancing surf training. This system provides coaches with near real-time access to wave footage, personalized coaching tools, and interactive feedback to help surfers improve their skills.
According to Flowstate coaches can review wave footage immediately after processing or at the end of a session, allowing for timely insights. The platform also includes live audio recordings and screen-sharing capabilities, enabling tailored guidance for surfers.
Additional features include video annotations, coach notes, and a side-by-side video player for performance comparison. Coaches can curate relevant clips from a video library to track progress and provide context.
Flowstate currently has camera systems at URBNSURF Melbourne, URBNSURF Sydney, Waco Surf, o2 SURFTOWN and Fireside Surf with more locations opening soon.
Surf Eye and Pactto announced a partnership
Both companies said the partnership is aimed at improving surf coaching at wave pools globally. This collaboration combines Surf Eye’s AI-powered camera network with Pactto’s AI-driven coaching platform to provide surfers with video coaching experiences.
Surf Eye operates a network of AI cameras that automatically record and edit sessions at various wave pools, including Skudin Surf in New York and RiF010 in Rotterdam. The platform allows surfers to review their performances for skill improvement.
Pactto offers a platform for video feedback, enabling surfers to upload their recorded waves and receive analysis from a roster of professional coaches. This integration aims to provide personalized coaching while generating additional revenue for coaches.
