How this big wave surfer will transform Bavarian surfing through o2 SURFTOWN MUC

I’m currently at the construction site at o2 SURFTOWN MUC with Michi Mohr. He’s a big guy, with thick hands and a friendly smile – warm, genuine, and a bit goofy. We’re walking around the site while the wave pool maker Endless Surf runs a bunch of tests. Michi takes a moment to pick up an empty box for recycling, tidies up a stray Firewire demo board, and scans the area for any other mess. It’s a construction site, so things are naturally a bit chaotic. The park isn’t even finished yet, and here’s Michi trying to keep things neat and orderly, which, let’s face it, is a bit of a challenge at this stage. I’m curious to find out why this surfer who left Bavaria years ago to chase waves all over the globe, has returned to Munich to take on the role of Chief Surfing Officer, and how his management style will play out at a wave pool set to radically transform German surfing.
