Janina Zeitler and Lennard Weinhold claim Rapid Surf League Puresurfcamps Munich Pro titles

 
With rapid pools being built all over the world, the sporting side of things is getting more and more interesting and professional. Since its inception in 2018, the Rapid Surf League, the first professional surf league on rapids has now successfully organized 7 RSL Pro events, a Pro / Am event and various smaller grassroots events at locations across Europe.

The 2022 Rapid Surf League Puresurfcamps Munich Pro was the most successful event to date with crazy action going down at Jochen Schweizer Arena just outside Munich and a live broadcast that set new standards in this young sport.

The European elite were present at the RSL Munich Pro on July 3rd with surfers venturing to Munich from all over Germany, Switzerland, Austria and even Costa Rica.

After hard-fought prelims and crazy semi-finals and finals which featured RSL’s own Cut-2-Call format, locals and defending champs Janina Zeitler and Lennard Weinhold ended up on top of the podium once again. Newcomer Maya Sauer finished second, reigning German Rapid Surfing champion Valeska Schneider third in the women’s division.

Second place in the men’s division went to Nicolas Marusa, reigning German Rapid Surfing champion, third place went to Olympian surfer Leon Glatzer who stepped on a rapid surfing podium for the very first time.
