AI Camera System Installed at Praia da Grama Wave Pool

Praia da Grama has partnered with Surf Eye to implement an AI-powered four-camera system at the Praia da Grama wave pool, a Wavegarden Cove facility in Brazil. According to the company, the system is intended to improve video capture and content creation for surfers visiting the location, which is situated near São Paulo surfing facilities.

The Wavegarden Cove design includes a side dedicated to left-breaking waves and another for right-breaking waves in its diamond-shaped pool. The new camera system uses two cameras on each side, one at the center track to record the full wave, and two additional cameras to focus on barrel and air sections. According to Surf Eye, this system is designed to improve content quality for surfers utilizing artificial wave pools in Brazil.

Private Surf Communities

Surf Eye also announced plans to launch a custom-built video portal designed for private surf communities in Brazil. The platform is expected to offer personalized access for members and guests, allowing them to select, download, and share their sessions. The company said the platform will feature enhanced privacy settings.

AI Video in Wave Pools

Wave pools like having the systems on site as it improves the customer experience as well as increases dwell time on site. Many facilities report an increase in F&B sales as a result of AI Video systems. Three Blue Ducks at the Melbourne URBNSURF dedicates a section for customers to hang out at and watch replays of their sessions. AI video systems are also being used for safety purposes in surf parks.

Surf Eye is one of four camera systems currently in the marketplace for surf park developments.
