SoCal’s favorite wave pool installs new video system

Flowstate has officially launched its services at The Palm Springs Surf Club (PSSC) in California. When WavePoolMag visited PSSC in October, the surf park had yet to have an AI video system in place. During our podcast with Cheyne Magnusson the wave maker had hinted at the prospect of a system, but would not confirm. The installation at PSSC marks the eighth wave pool globally that is offering the Flowstate system for its customers.

“PSSC is so excited to partner with Flowstate for many reasons,” said PSSC Director of Surf Operations Chance Gaul. “The quality and attention to detail in what Flowstate has to offer is second to none, and the Flowstate team is made up of incredible people who are passionate beyond belief, and the cameras/tech speaks for itself as a revolutionary tool in the industry. We are so grateful to collaborate with such an amazing company!”

Luke Wallace, CEO of Flowstate said that PSSC is a special place and that the combination of amazing waves, venue and great weather are all the key ingredients for something truly special.

“If vibe was a metric that could be measured, then Palm Springs Surf Club would be red-lining off the richter scale,” said Luke. “We are beyond excited to be partnering with the team at PSSC to help amplify the experience for the surfers of California and ensure that if you scored a slabbing barrel, we got the shot! Pull up in one of the cabanas and watch your session back before hitting the water again. Good vibes and good times only.”

Flowstate says its AI technology is designed to enhance the surfing experience through automated video capture, photography, coaching, and instant video replay.

The automated video and photo capture feature provides surfers with professional-quality content shortly after their sessions, including multi-angle shots that offer a comprehensive view of their rides. This feature aims to facilitate easy sharing of surfing experiences.

Additionally, Flowstate offers coaching capabilities that provide personalized feedback and video analysis. Surfers can refine their techniques between sessions, focusing on improving their performance.

The platform also includes a replay mode, allowing guests to view their sessions on large screens in private cabanas or at the poolside bar and cafe, Drifters, within 20 minutes of their surf. This feature is intended to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Flowstate promotes community engagement through its Activity Feed, enabling surfers to connect and interact with one another. The Wave Leaderboard feature encourages friendly competition by displaying which guests are catching the most waves. Automated highlight packages are available for easy sharing on social media.
