The Neil deGrasse Tyson of surfing (Dylan Graves) goes to Germany
We love Dylan Graves. His rabid curiosity for all things waves leads him on deep-dive adventures which he then relays back to us in a simple, somewhat stoned torrent of information. In a way, he is the Neil deGrasse Tyson of surfing.
His latest venture to o2SURFTOWN MUC captures the vibrance of opening day at Germany’s first wave pool while exploring the cultural importance of this wave tank to German surf culture.
“I was impressed on so many levels, by the wave itself, the people who showed up to surf and the people who showed up to watch,” said Dylan. “Apparently there was 18,000 be there for opening day. Cool to see how much this wave pool means to the community and how much something like this felt needed in the landlocked country of Germany.”
