Urbnsurf goes all-in with Aussie brand partnership

While everyone waits for more clips of the Beast, Urbnsurf Melbourne has secured three partnerships with leading Australian surf brands, ahead of the surf park’s much anticipated public opening in Summer 2020.

The southern hemisphere’s first full-size public Wavegarden Cove will work hand-in-hand with Rip Curl, Surf Hardware International, Creatures of Leisure, OTIS, Sex Wax, Surf Ears and Sun Cure.

When customers hire out equipment at the Melbourne wave pool it will be Rip Curl wetsuits, Softech boards and Creatures of Leisure leash and traction. Likewise, the on-site surf shop will be stocked with these same brands.

“Our aim at Urbnsurf is to provide safe, convenient and accessible opportunities to surf more, and to surf better,” said Andrew Ross, Urbnsurf’s Founder. “With the support of leading, like-minded Australian surf brands, we’re able to deliver world-class surfing experiences to our guests.”

The partnership with Rip Curl keeps the Melbourne wave pool true to its Aussie roots. The wetsuit maker originated an hour-and-a-half away in Torquay in the late 1960s.

“We’re stoked to have our gear on surfers the world over, and particularly to be the official Urbnsurf wetsuit partner,” said Neil Ridgway, Chief Marketing Officer at Rip Curl. “We look forward to getting our pro team there in the new year – from everything we have seen and our crew have experienced – it looks great fun and a solid testing and training ground for our team.”

A couple of weeks ago Urbnsurf stormed the digital surf sphere with hefty, thick barrels on a wave setting dubbed ‘The Beast.’ Shortly after they aired a clip of Aussie pros training. Most notable was Rip Curl team rider and world champ Tyler Wright who reappeared after a six-month absence from competition.
