13 images that say “welcome to Sydney’s wave pool”

In the haste to get the news out about URBNSURF Sydney’s launch last May, media outlets (ours included) rushed past a stunning cache of press images. Many came from renowned photographer Ed Sloane who has been in the wave pool game since first documenting Melbourne’s moment-in-the-sun when it came online five years ago.

Viewing wave pool surfing through a fresh lens is a challenge. Fortunately, what we found in that Sydney transfer file was a host new angles in a familiar, oft-trodden landscape. Today, as the southern hemisphere blisters through spring into summer and the park celebrates six months in operation, we thought we’d skim the cream off the top of these URBNSURF Sydney images from 2024. Here, we present them to you in Gallery form. You’re welcome.
