Brazil unveils fourth wave pool, schedules sessions for November 2023

Surfland Brazil in Garopaba announced they will officially open their doors on November 17, 2023. The company will also start scheduling surf sessions beginning that same day adding that owners will be able to purchase extra surf sessions prior to the launch date.

The project is being sold in a timeshare format and is now in the final sales stretch. Surfland said they would be operating a soft opening from November 2023 to May 2024 and allow owners to refer friends as long as spaces remain available.

“In the first 14 days of sales July 17th to 30th, owners will have exclusive access to choose their sessions,” said Surfland Brazil in a statement. “After this period, if session tickets are still available, the friends named by the owners get the chance to acquire these tickets.”

André Giesta, CEO of Surfland Brazil said the company wanted to give customers an opportunity to offer a little of the wave pool experience to their friends.

“I am sure that when they surf here for the first time, they will want to become owners and enjoy this paradise for the rest of their lives, together with their family” said André.

The machinery is already installed and construction is on track for Surfland Brasil’s 2023 opening.

In 2019 WavePoolMag reported that buy-ins for the apartments started at $22K US. At that time the company required three $1,090 payments followed by 57 installment payments at $325. They also offered buy-ins for the larger $29.5K units which accomodate five persons. According to artist renderings, there will be a little over 100 units on offer. (WavePoolMag asked Surfland if this pricing is still accurate but did not hear back as of press time.)

The company announced in April that much of the work was nearly done. Surfland Brasil will be using a Wavegarden Cove 2.0-powered pool to operate.

The complex will cover 464,000 m², 300,000 of which are preserved areas. Along with 278 apartments spread throughout seven buildings, the venture also has an innovative skatepark of approximately 2,000 m² planned by champion Pedro Barros. There will also be restaurants, a fitness space, spa, kids space, surf lessons, tennis and beach tennis, soccer, bowling, a surf museum and other attractions.
