Endless Surf signs on for Surfline’s new AI video capture

The AI video capture segment of the wave pool world, those systems that record customers’ rides and offer them for digital download later, just got busier as Surfline joins Flowstate and Wavegarden as players in the space.

In an announcement this week Surfline and Endless Surf unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at offering enhanced benefits for surfer progression and revenue opportunities for wave parks worldwide via their AI video capture system.

Surfline, renowned for its global forecasting expertise, has identified Endless Surf as a key player in wave technology and designated participating surf parks powered by Endless Surf as Surfline ‘Premier Parks.’ These Premier Parks will gain access to Surfline’s camera infrastructure, facilitating live streaming and video experiences for patrons. The collaboration will grant Premier Parks access to Surfline’s technology and also leverage its expansive marketing platform and vast global surfer audience to drive bookings and attract new customers.

In a significant development, Surfline is set to introduce AI-based camera technology, positioning itself as a pivotal platform for surfers worldwide. The AI technology is slated for launch at key ocean spots in the summer of 2024, followed by select wave pools. Endless Surf venues globally will have the opportunity to utilize this technology to offer customers video clips during and post their visits.

“We are excited to partner with Endless Surf,” stated Ross Garrett, CEO of Surfline. “By combining our camera technology with Endless Surf’s innovative wave technology, we aim to create exceptional experiences and foster innovation for both pool and ocean surfers.”

Paul Chutter, President of Endless Surf, emphasized the natural synergy of the partnership.

“This collaboration holds strategic significance for both entities,” said Paul. “The Premier Parks concept enhances the Endless Surf experience for venue builders and end-users, who can now surf and relive our world-class waves at their leisure. Partnering with Surfline aligns with our vision to shape the future of surfing beyond the ocean.”

Endless Surf said that the partnership is poised to boost the surf park business model, unlocking substantial revenue opportunities for participating venues globally. Further details on this collaboration will be revealed as Surfline rolls out its AI-based technology this summer, alongside ongoing progress on over a dozen Endless Surf projects worldwide.
