It’s ON! URBNSURF Sydney turns on the tap

Australia is several litres closer to having two public-facing surf wave pools as URBNSURF Sydney turned on the taps this week to fill the wave basin.

“This is a huge milestone for the much-anticipated second home of URBNSURF in Sydney Olympic Park” the company said in a statement. “URBNSURF is now the only Wave Pool Business in the world to operate two wave parks.”

Situated in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, the $50 million project features a surf lagoon comparable in size to the iconic Sydney cricket field. Spanning 3.6 hectares, URBNSURF Sydney will use Wavegarden Cove technology. This system is the driving force behind the consistent left and right-hand waves at sister-site URBNSURF Melbourne.

Sydneysiders and surrounding areas will have access to the wave pool in Sydney which sites within 30 minutes of the CBD. It will provide an alternative break to the ocean that will pump human-made waves for all ages and abilities.
