New Zealand wave pool tech makes inroads in America

YourWave, a stationary wave machine developed in New Zealand, has announced a partnership with Logan Norton of Austin, Texas, to introduce its technology to the United States market.

Norton will serve as the YourWave representative for sales and marketing in North America. The decision to expand into this region follows a significant interest in the product and a strategic aim to enter a rapidly developing wave pool space.

“Logan fits really well into our team and matches the passion and energy of YourWave to a tee,” said Niall Sutherland of YourWave. “We know that with his vast sales experience and passion for surfing that he’s the right person to help us break into the very exciting North American market. We’re really looking forward to working together with him to install our first couple of units in the region and show North America what’s possible with YourWave.”

Logan Norton brings extensive experience in strategic executive roles and marketing, particularly in the software as a service (SaaS) and information technology sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.

YourWave utilizes patented airform technology, which allows for the adjustment of wave size, shape, and speed. This capability enables the creation of various wave types, including lefts, rights, and beginner-friendly small waves, as well as larger overhead barrels for experienced surfers.

The machine can also produce a V wave, which simulates wake surfing and allows two surfers to ride simultaneously, potentially attracting wake surfing enthusiasts and increasing business during peak summer periods.

YourWave’s technology allows operators to adjust wave conditions on demand. The system is also designed to lower power costs when running smaller waves for beginners and young surfers. YourWave seeks to showcase its technology’s ability to deliver a consistent surfing experience across different locations while optimizing space and capital costs.
