Eclectic crew descends on Munich ahead of grand opening

A few months back Endless Surf unveiled their first full scale wave pool in Munich. Since then the company has been testing, tweaking and teasing. On the eve of the o2 SURFTOWN MUC grand opening, further teased the public with a tantalizing edit of the surf.

At the heart of the SURFTOWN venue is the Endless Surf ES34 lagoon which features 34 wave generating caissons that will offer customizable surf pushed out by pneumatic hardware and a unique, proprietary software suite

The company said wave settings will suite all levels of abilities and offer everything from coached sessions with mellow beginner waves to free-surf sessions with heavy barrels and air sections,  At their max, waves will be generated up to 2.1m in height and up to 18s in length on Single Peak mode.

This Endless Surf YouTube clip features an impressive lineup of surfers, including CJ Hobgood, Mikey February, Ian Gentil, Oliver Kurtz, Reed Platenius, and Leon Glatzer testing out the different settings.

“This motley crew of surfers made their way to Munich with a shared goal in mind… to try out our new creation and to sneak in a few sessions before o2 SURFTOWN MUC‘s official opening,” said Endless Surf Marketing Director Tanner Wilson. “Surfing non-stop and well into the evening, the crew put on an absolute clinic as they were able to try out some of the many different wave settings on tap.”

The exclusive opening event will take place on Saturday, August 10, with admission by invitation only. The public is invited to an open day on Sunday, August 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will feature surf shows with professional surfers, a variety of food trucks, and music from DJs. Attendees are advised that cashless payment options will be available, and entry may be restricted once the venue reaches capacity.
