“You mean I get barreled AND help out people in Indo?” SurfAid Cup returns to the Surf Ranch in 2023

On February 26th and 27th, 2023, the SurfAid Cup Surf Ranch competition returns for its third year. Teams of four to five surfers, of all ages and abilities, will be raising funds for SurfAid’s global work.

Teams will compete for awards, including the top fundraising team and the champion surfing team.

All teams get to enjoy world-class Surf Ranch hospitality with meals, drinks, waves, support staff, extensive Firewire quiver and Rip Curl wetsuits all included. Surfers taking part also get a 30-minute night warm-up on Sunday night. On Cup day (Monday) each team will have two 30-minute heats.

Interested surfers and teams can find more information at this link.

The innovative surfing event raises money for SurfAid’s lifesaving mission to improve the health, well-being and resilience of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing in Indonesia, the Pacific and Baja California Sur, Mexico. SurfAid works tirelessly to help ensure remote and impoverished communities have access to clean water and sanitation, basic healthcare, and improved nutrition.

“The SurfAid Cup is our signature fundraiser, annually held at multiple locations each year,” said SurfAid in a statement. “Your surf in a SurfAid Cup helps create long-term sustainable change, powered by the local’s, in the places you love to surf. One day of surfing can ensure positive health behaviours carry on long after our work concludes.”
