Two new Brazilian pools on the way as American Wave Machines enter agreement

American Wave Machines, drivers of the engine behind BSR Surf Resort in Waco, today announced a partnership with Brazilian company JHSF Participacoes SA, headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil.

This agreement will launch the first of two PerfectSwell locations in the State of São Paulo. Project kick off is immediate, with surfing anticipated in November 2020.

JHSF is a Brazil-based holding company engaged in the real estate industry. The Company is involved in the development, purchase and sale, as well as lease of residential and commercial properties. The license with AMW will go a long way as the company populates the country with wave pools.

Earlier this year Fazenda da Grama Brazil announced they will build South America’s first Wavegarden Cove. The real estate project by KSM developers is located near Sao Paulo and includes condos, a health-centric lifestyle focus and artificial beach. Wavegarden currently has 30 projects announced worldwide.

American Wave Machines, by targeting Brazil and offering something other than turnstile-ticket-access projects like in Waco, has broadened their appeal globally.

“JHSF is constantly innovating its real estate developments and the importance of surfing to Brazil cannot be overstated.” said Thiago Alonso, CEO of JHSF. “We intend to launch two projects with surf facilities over the coming quarters, resulting in greater waves for our clients. We will be able to specify any ride length, wave size, and pool footprint, with an aesthetic design for both recreational and competitive surfers.”

AMW’s CEO Bruce McFarland lauded the agreement, pointing out how it will enhance the already formidable Brazilian Storm.

“We could not be more thrilled to build worldclass PerfectSwell surf facilities with a world-class development team like JHSF.” said McFarland. “The Brazilian Storm is for real, with Brazilian athletes having the largest national representation of any country on the WSL Championship Tour. “
